Hi,
As in the title, I am getting a 996 turbo and I would prefer to garage it but don't know whether I will be able to as it is only 2400mm wide. I am trying to get some insurance quotes so if anyone knows it would be helpful.
Cheers

How wide is the door? If its over 2 metres you will get the car in - probably fold the mirrors first - and put some cork or carpet tiles on the wall where you open the driver door.

You will be fine.

The gap between my garage doors is 2100mm. Inside, the minimum width of my garage is 2300mm.

I don't put my 996 turbo in the garage very often, but I have done a few times and it fits.

Mine fits with probably 15-20cm spare either side at the door. I'll measure the narrowest part for you and let you know wink

She gets parked in there every night, getting in and out without touching the door to the wall can be quite a gymnastic feat!

Regardng insurance, the specialist insurers in my experience require the car to be garaged every night whereas if you go direct to an insurance company, Aviva, in my case, there is little difference in cost whether it's parked on the street or in a garage. I live in BA2, south Bath, so it may depend on area.

Thanks for all the advice so far, I am intending to do the carpet on the walls thing. Also intending on a New Year's diet to aid with getting out of the car! First got to get a skip to dump all the junk that currently lives in the garage biggrin

Thanks for the recommendation for Jonathan at Pace Ward, had had a similar recommendation from the dealer broking the car, hopefully he will quote me happy as it has had some mods.

It can be a bit of a mission but she isn't used as a daily, it's all worthwhile knowing the car is tucked away from the elements even if I twist my back in the process wink

As suggested carpet on the wall is a great shout!

Put the window down before you get out - makes the world of difference.
Can then shut the door and put the window back up using the key fob.

And a cotton bobbin or similar hanging from ceiling located so as to touch the windscreen when youre as far in as you need to go.

You can do something similar (for the side glass) to guide your near side in, if its tight and dark and you need to fold in your passenger door mirror, too.

pinp pong balls work well, too and dont have the weight so you can tape them from the ceiling,
