Hmmm, this could be of interest!
My Dad used to do these in the mid 80s with a friend, and as its his 70th next year Ive been looking for something interesting to do celebrate it. I'm sure he would love to do it again!
What time of year does it happen?
I believe in Mid February, there is a web site www.beaujolaisrun.com which has some details but I know there are others. My Dad used to do these in the mid 80s with a friend, and as its his 70th next year Ive been looking for something interesting to do celebrate it. I entered for ten or so years and stopped three years ago due to the economics of it and not being able to justify the costs... won it twice and once got the award for highest fund raiser; fab time and very enjoyable.
It's held 3rd week of November to coincide with the release of the beaujolais Nueveau.
I'm sad to hear it got binned this year; are you able to shed any light on what those "behind the scene" issues were, Marshalla? Happy for you to PM me if easier!

Not something for a public forum, I think. My understanding is that the intention is to get it back on form for this year and the foreseeable future though.
My recollection is that it involved a lot of late nights, followed by some very early mornings. Hard work, but great fun and well worth doing.
