SL63 AMG Pick up problems when cold

Hi everyone

My mate has an 09 - SL63 and it's terrible when cold, pick up problems and jumping around. I know you are meant to let the egines warm up but it's so bad i was just wandering if anyone else has come accross this problem?

It's been to mercedes a couple of times but it hasn't really improved

may be it needs a long fast run to clear out its lungs?

Have an E63 2011 and there is no pick up problems at all - slightly rougher running for the first couple of mins but nothing bad at all. Sounds like something else is going on.

And there was me thinking this thread was about another Mercedes niche model ; would sell well in Oz though.

I had an 09 SL63 from new and it went back to the dealer several times for this problem, really juddery at low speeds and when parking . It is a well known characteristic of the engine and something to do with the sump. After several software upgrades which didn't really make any difference I stopped complaining about it. This was the only bad thing about the car, wish I hadn't sold it

Havent noticed that on my CLK63. Gearbox can sometimes get confused when cold though.
