I've posted questions for advice on the VW forum in the past and again earlier today (too early to expect a reply to these I know) but I've never had any advice back to my questions in the past and they weren't obscure or weird question either, just run of the mill stuff that I know other people must have encountered before but there is rarely any advice offered by others not like here on our S forum, we can trust that there are many helpful folks here who are always happy to offer advice and information.
I'd just like to say a sincere thanks to everyone really who has previously helped me and who may in the future.
It's much appreciated!

Going to miss not asking questions about my S… ![]()
You're always welcome to play with mine and take it to Austec for a Podie special for me .....don't forget your cheque book!![]()
I wouldn't mind it back at weekends tho!
… but I'll do a discounted rate on the advice I give…
On a minor tangent… what’s your excuse this month for not coming to the Mid-Essex meet on Sunday..?

Excuse, I'm offended ....deeply!
I'd have loved to have gone last month but problems with the car and a house move looming prevented me.
Sorted the exhaust as much as I can until replacement and now all I need is a new fuel pressure regulator as mine is playing up (similar effect to TP packing up) also a set of magnecors leads and a new fuel tank. The latter being the most limiting factor for any longer distance runs.
Moved last week and had loadsa problems when we got there, we had 2 water leaks and 2 gas leaks and found that the previous owners had damaged loads of things and removed kitchen units and broken the dishwasher and removed skirting boards and left bare electrics, removed curtains and blinds and sheds and tool stores and the house was absolutely filthy, so this past week I've been mostly scrubbing carpets and floors and fixing showers and boiler and electrics etc. They also left all their crap which I had to put in my car a cart to the tip, smelly old enormous dog rugs etc ...nice!
The house was lovely when we offered on it a few months ago and I am at a loss as to how anyone can
it up so much in such a short space of time. I now know why they made escuses as to why we couldn't pop round to measure anything etc before and after we exchanged. They moved to Texas without leaving a forwarding address but I received a parcel the other day and opened it thinking it was mine and found that it contained bank cheques for them, a bit of a result as I now have their bank account details and can have them traced! Let legal action commence.....
My poor little S has been in my in-laws garage until a couple of days ago, as I had to clear out all the crap from our new garage that the previous w*nkers left behind.
So, there are a few jobs to do still before I feel confident in taking the Tiv out for any long runs but I may well be able to make it in the Freelander, the VW needs a cambelt, there are some other family problems but I won't expand on these here, jeese all I want is a nice quiet life but it's all hassle at the moment!
I think I could do with a nice drive and a relaxing chat in the pub for a few hours!
Podie, can you let me have the dates again of the next few meets or direct me to the info for this, can't find the e-mail you sent me a few weeks ago?
Hoping to see you soon!

Second sunday of the month mate...
Cheers Podie
Sad to say I won't make it this weekend as too much to do and too many outstanding jobs on the Tiv, it's running a bit rough due to the fuel pressure regulator packing up and the leads are past their best, I phoned ACT yesterday and they are such nice folks, they have even said they'll try and get a new FSE regulator from Austec for me to save me paying double carriage.
All these extra jobs on the house which I didn't expect to do have taken the funds I had for the Tiv but I'd rather not go mad on spending and have to sell due to lack of funds, at least the S is sitting waiting for me to sort out at some point soon. I should get a bonus at year end and that will be spent on the car ...hopefully, new hood and a re-spray should just about be possible.
I think the car has turned into an obsession, I turn the light on in the garage and just look at it sometimes, should I seek help?

The FSE jobbie was the next part to go on mine in the hope of getting more fuel into the engine... in fact that unit is probably the one originally destined for my car!!
Tim Lamont is a top bloke and very helpful...

Thank thine own gods for ye olde garage, brother Kentish of the S cloth.
I dont have such luxurious sheltering arrangements, and it would look bizarre if I just stood on the driveway for 10 minutes, staring at the S, but fortunately I smoke which is a perfect excuse for loitering by the vehicle (and gives me the added benefit of looking cool and hard)

What do you mean by "hard" ....a trouser bulge?
You my friend may be forming an abnormal relationship with that V8S...
Errr, you didn't by any chance own a Metro a few years ago did you (but never drive it)?
Have you ever appeared in the News of the World?
