I can understand why they have to enforce this during working hours to protect the work force, but I read somewhere that on another stretch of roadworks that they caught more people late at night and at week-ends when there was no work-force around the site. This would make a person like me think that it is another cynical revenue raiser

It's bloody ridiculous at 10pm and later, completely clear, wide open yet still 40. I stick to a steady 50, haven't gotten a ticket. Went past them on wednesday afternoon at peak times, saw some guy in a high vis messing around with a laptop by the base of the camera at the end of the northbound stretch, probably means something.

650 is an exaggeration. Having said that I drove through it last week and there was a digital sign on the southbound side that said "Last week we caught 315 drivers speeding". That's still quite a lot!

Annoyingly, when the cameras first went up they where put at the start of the cones, fair enough, but now the monitoring/cameras start about a mile before the cones both carriageways, which, quite frankly, is nasty. I don't go though them every day but I do chuck the radar cruise control on when i do. Its almost the only time I've ever used it lol

You're braver than me! I stick to 45 and never had a ticket.

What's the start of play up there now, I used to do it every day but now go east onstead of north to work so haven't been for a while. When I last went the road still went the same way just lots of digging on the verges.
