My GTR has an annoying rattle that is very noticable when going over bumps. Can only hear it when I am on the move.
Sounds like it is coming from behind the passenger, maybe even within the chassis tube of the rollcage.

The sound is like a loose M8 (or maybe 5/16ths ) bolt rattling in its hole.

I have tried knocking around that area when stationary to recreate/trace the noise, but can't. Nothing noticable is loose, pipework/wiring is all securely fixed/p clipped.

Anybody got any suggestions as to how to trace the rattle? I was thinking one of the hyrdraulic F1 chassis testers would work (the sort that vibrates the suspension). But I don't know anyone with one in their garage. Need to somehow simulate a pot hole when stationary.

This may, or may not, be possible...depending on the location. But, it might work:

If you think it's a metal piece (bolt, washer) inside a chassis tube, get a small, powerful magnet and drag it along the tube. Then, work it around the tube from bottom to the top side of the tube. Pull the magnet away from the tube from the top side and you should hear anything inside the tube drop.

I'll put money on it being the lower passenger seat belt mount. Yours don't rattle cos your in it keeping it tight.
