I took my car to my local Merc dealer for a service the other day and came out over £800 lighter. I have never had to spend that much for a service. This was a standard Merc major service. The Monkeys technicians didn't have the time to investigate why the headlight washers were not working. After this experience, the car is never going back to a main dealer. Can anyone recommend me someone near Tunbridge Wells who can service the car in the future and more immediately fix the issue with the headlight washers? Car is a W211 E320 estate. I guess I am after a mechanic rather than a technician who are only capable of doing what the computer says.

Thanks.

Thanks for the recommendation, however that could take me up to an hour to get to which will not be possible during the week.
Anybody got any other suggestions? Will also take suggestions for independents near Redruth as I will be down there for a week early in the new year.

Thanks. Will give them a call later. What are their costs like in comparision to the main dealers?

I used these guys in Maidstone recently for my BMW 730D, and found them to be very good on price and service.

I've used a guy called Nigel Scrace a couple of times now and found him to be very good.

He was recommended tome by a Merc owning friend when I got my S203. I believe he's Merc trained? He's done a couple of odd jobs and a service. Very reasonable, and straight, not suggesting unnecessary work.

He's based in a large metal workshop down the depths of Powdermill Lane in T.Wells

I've heard his name crop up before. Know Powdermill lane quite well. He may be the best choice as I can either walk to town from there (I live almost in town) or go and visit my mum who is closer than mine.

I don't want to offend them or anyone who uses them but I felt like I was attending a BNP or NF office on the three occasions I went to them.
