How much do you spend on dinner for 2?

Curious what is considered normal/acceptable by different people when you just fancy going out for dinner.

I'm thinking more of the weekly treat than going to La Gavroche for the experience.

I appreciate there's no right answer as it depends on disposable and attitudes so some will do 2 for a tenner whilst powerfully build directors will drop £200 on dinner without thinking about it.

There aren't that many places outside London where it's possible to spend £100/person unless you are going crazy with the wine list

Or at least, not places that would let the likes of me in to begin with

I share a takeaway with my best mate every few weeks and spend about £15. Every few months a nice-ish meal out, maximum of around £35. I don't (can't) drink much and am always the designated driver, so those prices are usually with one glass of wine for her.

The most I've ever done was just over £300 for two at Claridges. That said, I was being resaonably sensible on the wine. They have a bottle of Chateau d'Yquem 1961 on at £11,000 a pop....
I normally budget £200 for a decent restaurant in London.

Taking my wife out to somewhere in town...maybe 40-45 quid tops usually.

going out for tea can mean 241 at £15 for 2 if you have 1 soft drink each to about £50/couple for tenner a plate stuff with pud and a glass of wine.

obviously a 'meal out' where you change your clothes and everything is more.

Somewhere nicer anything up to £100 usually

Haven't treated her much recently, but when we do go out I try to aim for less than £40. Although the bill made it to £50 last time

Most I've spent is around £65 for 2 steaks with starter and drinks.

I'm a bit cheap though

Somewhere a bit nicer - birthday, anniversary or similar. £75

Favourite restaurant - landmark birthday/anniversary/freebie. £100

However, my favourite is a wetherspoons burger and a beer, £6.59 each and a damn good burger for a pub! I'm classy.
