Today on the City road,Islington i saw a weird one.

Body looked like an older Suzuki Vitara 2 door but the front grille was of the type

seen on a 1930s MG or similar ye olde British car of that era.

It didn't look like a homemade modding nightmare but some JDM retro monstrosity more like.

Sorry no pics ,traffic moving just enough to not make it possible.

Over to the might of the PH collectivesmile

More info. Was it LHD/RHD, did it have any badges, any guess on age? Was it 2 door or did it have a rear safari door or tailgate? Soft top or hard top?

Errm confused

3 doors like a Vitara ,should have at least tried to remember part of the regidea

Wouldn't have been able to read badges and didn't recognise any on it.

It was greyclap

If i don't get an answer i will just have to sit by City road for a few dayswobble

Hardtop and RHD i think.

No,but the grille design is similar.

The headlamps were not "separate" and didn't have the front wings like thatthumbup

Try Googling Mitsuoka; they make all kinds of weird conversions on Japanese cars.

Longshot - was it one of the old Russian GAZ jeeps? They also came with a hardtop style body.

I've never so much as sat in one, but I suspect they are not an engaging drive. Hard work, yes. Interesting (as in death defying), yes. I doubt they would make a satisfying daily driver.

Not the Gaz and certainly not the Citroennono

It didn't have separate front wings ,it was basically a Vitara with a 1930s style

upright grille and round headlampsconfused
