TV, Fridge, lights, heater, toaster, kettle, microwave etc etc. that's why we like the Houx. Batteries do work but electric is better which probably explains why the Houx gets sold out quicker than any other site.

Seems like an opaque post by a service provider. I learnt the difference between the first and third person in primary school...hence posting only ever as a service provider.

Porkieboy - what's your status with the ACO? They say they have never heard of you...

Have to say NeilChills has a point, when you post looks like you are pretentding 'innocent party' which is probably why you get such a battering. Your porkieboy advertising can get very annoying on our ph forum. Nothing to do with speedchills me, but a great fan of their service. Just saying.

I think you have rather missed the point we have never or would never make a post under another name or encourage anyone to do so on our behalf,not every one spends their life on forums and you have successfully ensured that these genuine people will never post again, the idea of a forum is for an exchange of views and to benefit from the excellent advice given.

What you are attempting to do is stifle debate,the only reason I made the post is because Speedchills put a number of adverts for their site before my post see vincegailpost which is not about our post but speedchills, it would appear that the forum administrator removed these posts but not mine. You quite clearly enjoy the speedchills site but I would suggest that you look at what adverstising they are placing on the site if you are concerned about adverstising or is their advertising OK.

I have asked that our post be removed but I dont think that genuine posts from satisfied customers of any site should be critcised just because they dont meet your criteria for posting on the site.

Le Mans is there for us all to enjoy so please make constructive posts not destructive ones.

Certainly I agree, these can be two functions of a forum. Others may be to seek help, keep in touch, share views, or indeed carry out marketing.

If I look back through your posts, it isn't immediately clear from some of them that you are the village on the curves, examples being where someone has asked for advice on where to camp and you've responded they should try the village on the curves without commenting on your interests. This is an observation rather than a criticism. If this is the point the poster (allojohn or neilchills or vincegail - I cannot remember which - maybe none of them) was trying to make, then I'd have to say I agree with it. Just for clarity - we camp on an ACO site, so I'm not banging the drum for any private site here, although we visit the PH campsite in LM each year as a result of our association with another website.

I'm not sure whom your comment about debate is directed to - my post here isn't an attempt to stifle debate, merely the expression of the point of view of a forum user (I'm also on some of the other forums you advertise on).

To reply to the OP,

Hello, You have not given much detail of what your after from Le mans, you mention there is a group of you attending? What sort of cars do you intend to bring and is security paramount to you? On the ACO sites, its easy to get into any of them on foot. This means that you need to make sure valuable items are locked away.
I have stayed in a few of the campsites over the years, Houx several times, Ive had stuff stolen on Houx. Beausejour campsite is a fair way away from the grandstand / Paddock area but a noddy train goes up and down regularly to provide free transport. Speed Chills have a private area on this site and normally have a band playing too . Note: I have never stayed with them. Its just that Ive camped near their area. Another chap who had a private area on Beausejour was Guy from a company called White Rabbit Racing. Beausejour can be a bit of a dust bowl in hot weather and if it rains the entrance and exits can be a nightmare!

Karting Nord has been lost this year due to building development. However if you look at any of the Mad Friday videos, much of the Chav actions took place on the road outside this site! The Pistonheads camping area is on the outside of the circuit near the Airfield, its run in conjunction of Brian from First tickets. Not stayed with them but people seem pleased with added security and atmosphere. Only downside I can see to the PH site is the access to the site, its the main road that runs up the outside of the circuit so it can get a bit of traffic on it, people using Parking Blue, Parking White, and some of the other campsites all use this road and of course spectators wanting to cross the road getting in and out of the circuit

Last year My gang stayed with Team Langoustine on a secure Gated campsite at Tet Rouge corner (on the infield) Its walking distance from the tram (to get you into Le mans on the Friday evening)
It has its own private bar, TV, food, 24hr security and showers/toilets. We did not have to worry about the cars or tents which was a major + point. It was also easy to get the cars in and out of the campsite with no traffic jams or chavs expecting you to do a burnout at every opportunity. Downside is its a fair walk to the Grandstand paddock area, but There is the Tet rouge bar nearby and this too has bands on.

There are other sites away from the circuit where they bus you in and out, it all depends what your after

Thank you for the post, what I was trying to say about debate was that it is shame we have lost people to this forum who could have made a valuable contribution over the years.

I slightly disagree on the posting issue,my profile is clearly shown with my full name and webiste and generally I have only made what I consider a pure advertising post to counter others, if you look at others you will see that a lot of my posts talk in generic terms and are meant to be helpful at no time have I ever criticised any provider or what they have on offer.

Most providers make very little out of the sites and they are done mainly out of a passion for the event and provide an alternative for those who want this type of provision.

Quite frankly I have no problem with any Campsite / event organisers posting up replies More the merrier as its always nice to know what options are out there, but it is nice to know who you all are on here

Only problem I can see is what happened to another site that I frequent. They would not allow members on the forums to recommend any non site sponsors!

I hope PH does not go down the same route

I too have no problems with people promoting their own business (although it may seem otherwise), as long as you're honest about it.

I cannot stand people who act as if they have no connection with which ever business they intend to promote and want to pass themselves of as a satisfied customer.

That was my problem with posts made by JaneG (which are now deleted) on two other threads. She had/has made 6 posts in total at that time in about a years time or so.
And 5 out of those 6 were raving reviews about some Le Mans tour promoter! They very well could have been honest posts, but they looked like spam to me.

Promoting your business = Good
Acting like an unbiased customer while you have ties with said business = Not Good
