Still looking (although not very hard) for a new 5.1/7.1 system as my old Panasonic has finally given up after about 15 years.
Still can't make my mind up whether to buy a new amp/sub and re=use the original Panasonic satellites as they are actually quite good, produce decent sound and all the speakers I see in 1 box sets now seems to have speakers made from very thin and lightweight plastic.
Or, I might just do the easy thing and buy a whole new 1 box system.
Seen these 2 Panasonic models, and comparing the specs I can't see anything obviously different.

SC-BTT590EBK and SC-BTT590EGK - except the latter is roughly £100 more.

You should probably take the opportunity to build a separates system IMHO. Keep using the satellite speakers from your existing system and invest in a decent sub and AVR. I would suggest a BK Gemini II for about £200 and the lover end Onkyo AVRs start at £180. You can upgrade the satellites when funds permit and you'll end up with somethign far superior to an all-in-one.

This is my gut-feeling plan really and exactly what we were doing last year, then we heard a rather nice Hi-Fi combo and blew the budget on that, hence me only starting to look now smile

A lot of the AVR's not are so big though, only 'skinny' one we found was a Marantz 1909 or similar model which seemed quite nice.
