Are headlights individually earthed?

Need to replace the drivers side dip beam bulb, but notice on side lights that the drivers side is considerable dimmer. Both the bowls have about the same amount of rust () so don't think it's that. If they are off the same earth I'll clean up connection at bowl end. Probably do it anyway.
