Hoping someone on here can help.

I've organised a hire car for Christmas, knowing that I needed to get my own insurance.

Axa orginally said they would do it, now apparently the car i've hired is too high a risk!! (Discovery 3) - and as such won't cover me.

Does anyone know any companies that insure a car to a private individual that is owned by a hire company?

I've tried 'Insure4aday' etc - and they say not for a car owned by a hire company

HELP!?

Might not be cheaper, but probably a lot easier, to just use the hire companies insurance.

I'm guessing that for reasons we don't know, the hire company's insurer won't cover the OP.

To answer the question, no, no one will do it. It's what insurers call "selection against." Call the hire firm, and see if you can swap the Disco 3 for a Micra.

no, it's nothing untoward - I need a 4x4 and tow vehicle over winter. Hence me hiring a Disco. It's from SHB........they say I have to organise my own insurance.
