Driving the kids to school in my 996 Coupe this morning, two lanes, me in the right hand lane, middle aged bloke in a mum bus in left hand lane.

Said to the kids 'watch what happens now' & sure enough, he tries racing us. Happens all the time, middle aged blokes in mum buses having to prove their masculinity or something.

It's not like my Seal Grey 996 is in your face or anything & it's always worse when my kids are with me. Is it just me this happens to?

Rise above them... Wave them on and just tuck in behind them, you have nothing to prove. They are just wannabe bus drivers!

In a 996GT3 on a long straight road with a lot of speed bumps.

The Astra van won, though it was airbourne for a lot of the time and probably needed new suspension afterwards.

Yes, actually, and I'm only driving a 993 with no wings attached.

It's the Dads in the buses with the kids who are trying to show the kids that they are better/faster drivers than the bloke in the Porsche. And when they get home, the kids say "Dad overtook a Porsche today" and all is well in The Addams Family.

Drivers who race with children in the car need to seek help.

Foolishly tried to make a biker eat dust once in my 930 with the whole family on board.

Told the kids to wave goodbye to Mr. Biker as I dropped it down a gear while doing about 80mph on a lovely fast sweeping A-road.

Mr. Biker was kind enough to wave back to my kids and I as he pulled up alongside on his back wheel. Then he carried on past two cars in front still on his back wheel while over taking them through a series of fast s-bends.

A very impressive piece of safe over taking.

The "category" is called MPV Man ... Usually blokes who used to have a better car until their partner whispered sweet nothings in their ear and then hey presto, the masculinity of being able to create life a couple of times was replaced by the realisation that they had taken over his life. 2 seater "sports" cars were now a distant memory (a bit like the stunning figure of the mother) and now he has to cart around pushchairs, nappies and toys for the kids ... so an MPV is his choice of vehicle.

Happens all the time, the last one that tried to sit up my backside through my favourite series of S bends (in the dark), probably needs to valet his drivers seat as he spun it at high speed ....

Never really experienced this.

Happens with my Megane all the time with comparable hot hatches, usually Astras frown

Porsche wise, rarely and usually comparable cars. E.G. Great little tussle with an original RS6 vs my 996 GT3 (Porsche quicker by a way )

Not any recollection of any MPV hate tbh
