To be honest I think it's dire. The girl has a great voice, but one that is ill suited to the song. She just doesn't have the oomph to carry it off, and whilst the Tears for Fears track worked in the slow melancholic style I just don't think The Power of Love does; it's the contrast between the spoken bits and the soaring chorus that make it for me.
I remember hearing a similar version of this some years ago on the TV and I can't for the life of me think who sang it. It was one person on a piano, and the other singing. I want to say it was Alison Moyet singing but I'm not sure. Anyone else remember?

Shame that the reformed FGTH with Ryan Molloy never went anywhere, he was so utterly different in style to Holly, but after the Trevor Horn gig I would have loved to have heard a proper studio album.
The cover used in the advert is just a bit weak for me, like so many 80s covers they lack the passion of the original.

I agree, I've heard loads of people saying how good this cover is but I just don't rate it.

Curious; not sure whether to hug or slap...FWIW, I think that if you're going to do a stripped-down and fragile cover of a big song, you need to draw out some nuance that wasn't there in the original. She didn't do that for me.
