Selling car without log book?

I have just been to the DVLA office to put my reg on retention as im selling my car.
Since coming home I have had a conversation with a buyer who seems very interested and would like to collect it tomorrow.
Problem is I have no logbook or MOT and the private reg is still on the car till it comes back through which is probably next week, Is it still possible to sell the car?

Its more of a problem for the buyer than the seller.

I'd only buy a car without a V5 if I knew the owner very well.

I know it is a bit off a put off for the buyer, I will see if he's willing to put a deposit on it until next week when hopefully it is back.
