Following the EVO into history...........
Sad, there are still plenty left, driven by 25-30 year old Spiv/Drug dealer types.....till the police nick them & CRUSH the car. Yes the grey imports are thinning fast....

I think everthing has its time & place............look at how many XR2/XR3's we used to see.........I think the Focus will shift to "Affordable performance". Cars like the Golf GTi & Ford ST will become rare sight.....
VW have seen this & i think the UP GT will be a BIG winner for them........Brisk & 60 MPG.

It is a shame that another iconic car is being laid to rest.
I'd still be interested to get my hands on a classic just to say I've had one.

This however I do not agree with. Of the classic WRX/STIs that I see most are well kept standard examples or extensively modified for increased performance. There is maybe one or two which have had badly fitted bodykits and show sure signs of neglect but they are not the majority. Mike

I owned a classic shape MY 99 Impreza for 4 years. It was a superb car, one of the best I have ever owned. The performance was matched by the handling and reliability. It even had a decent ride, far better than my current BMW.
The car's biggest weakness was its thirst, however. At the time I was covering 16-18k miles a year, so when the price of petrol went through the roof, it sadly had to go. I was almost in tears on the day I sold it
Classic shape Scoobies are definitely future classics, and I would bet that buying an immaculate unmodified one now, and keeping it like that, would be an excellent investment.
