I lapped Goodwood for the first time today. Very wet weather, very slippy and a car that the owner (sat in pass seat) picked up the day before - A standard Mk1 MX-5
Plenty off sliding around. The majority was 4 wheel drifts which didn't need correcting and are therefore hard to see on camera. Some slides after the corners were provoked, all others were natural!
Enjoy!

MX-5 looks entertaining.. Who's driving? Clearly knows their way around Goodwood.

Erm, me on my first ever visit! I'd done a 15 min session earlier in the day before I put a camera on to film this. The owner and his father spent most of the time out on track. I just went to make sure the car was sound. Even with just 130hp, you can have fun. It was my first time in an MX-5 and I was impressed to say the least.

Do it!! I think a Cooper S had dropped some coolant which made it more enjoyable tbh. There were spinners almost every session but no one hit the wall, so we didn't lose too much track time.

A car with more BHP would have meant some longer slides but you couldn't have put the power down properly anyway - I didn't feel that more horespower would have been beneficial in those conditions.

I do have friends in high places at Goodwood (watching by the exit of the chicane) but this was just a quiet charity day. The weather was so bad an hour earlier that most people went home!

If they all handle like that one, you'll have loads of fun.

As above - it's not mine, I just had a quick drive to make sure he hadn't bought a dog! It is a standard Mk1 1.8 with a roll hoop.
