Quick 'Band K' road tax question

'Band K includes cars that have a CO2 emission figure over 225g/km but were registered before 23 March 2006.'

Is this still the case?
Is this changing anytime soon?

very unlikely they will reband them 6+ years on
the majority of effected vehicles will be getting towards the end of their life with a couple of years
