RIP Subaru Impreza

Was really shocked to read this. Sad , very sad.
I was never a fan of the hatch , as for me it was just too small compared with a wagon , and then the Impreza STi Saloon getting imo too big and expensive, I guess they had to do something .... but to cancel the Impreza altogether?!! Mad.
Puting aside the heritage and history of the Impreza that in my opinion made Subaru and gave them that recognition , I think it's a mistake not having a Focus-sized vehicle in their range. I used to help out at a Subaru franchise, and even at that time some members of the public thought it was too big . When the Justy was introduced it filled that gap. Now the Justy has gone , and soon the Impreza as well. Not having a "small" car in their line-up in this day and age is imo either brave or stupid.
Guess my wife is right in saying my current Impreza is staying for a while!

Frankly once the saloon/wagon line up had gone it was going to struggle. There are just too many other options in the fast hatch area.
The usability of the 2 bodyshells plus 4wd plus the performance made it a winner only contested by the Evos.
I feel we may have to keep ours a bit longer!

Very very sad - I've had a couple of them in days gone by and absolutely loved them but in all honesty the current crop are not good enough. They don't look good enough, are not powerful enough (relative to the competition), are too expensive and too thirsty.
Don't get me wrong I'm a fan but I fear they've had their day
