My dad broke his camera while on holiday (got a bottle of water poured over it). It was a bridge camera and he was happy with it, did everything well for playing with things a little, was a FujiFilm bought 2 years for around £140, looking to spend the same again, anyone recommendations for what to purchase?
Not looking for a DSLR, he used to have an SLR and was happy to move to a bridge camera, My mum has a DSLR in the house if he needs it.

How fixed is the budget?
What type of photography does he tend to do mainly - landscape, macro nature, wildlife, birds, indoors/low-light?
Does he compose via the screen or viewfinder?
Does he edit the photos on the computer - not resize, but tweak lighting levels, etc?
Does he use/need a high magnification lens?
Depending mainly how the budget is, I'd strongly suggest seeking out a pre-owned Fujifilm X10.

depending on your budget but if you buy from fuji direct they have a refurbished section on their website,http://shop.fujifilm.co.uk/finepix-hs30exr-refurbi...
i bought a hs20 from there 12 months ago, saved myself over £100 it was absolutely brand new, not a mark or a scratch on it and works perfectly. In fact it takes fantastic photos.
