2006 C4S. The alarm has just started to intermittently go off for no apparent reason. Any ideas on when I should start to look for possible problems?

I have another issue that may or may not be related- I have recently noticed that I have to try a couple of times to get the ignition key to work the starter. It's as if the steering lock is on or similar. But when I turn the key back to the "0" position and try again it always starts immediately.

Sounds like a key barrel issue, I'm sure Pope or Mike will be along soon.

Would this be likely to affect the alarm too?

I believe it would, when you lock do you sometimes get a warning beep?

If it's original battery I would look there.
Alternatively if you think it is faulty interior sensor, press lock twice rapidly when you lock car and it will turn int sensor off (look for long single flash on indicators to confirm).

Hi is it the alarm siren and horn going of or just one of them?,The alarm has an events memory which can be read with diagnostics and point you in the right direction
