I'm planning a trip to the nurburgring and then the porsche museum next spring and am not sure where to stay near each place. I need a hotel that has nice secure parking with wide bays more my car.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Have you been to the 'Ring before? I only ask because I never worry where I leave our Porsche when we're in that area. In the UK I'm Captain Paranoia when it comes to Porsche parking. There's so much exotica/sports cars around the Nurburg / Adenau area and the locals have much more respect for people's property There's loads of hotel/accomodation choice in the area and many will recommend hotels that are very close to the circuit.

For the last two years, a group of us have stayed at the 'Ringvilla' in Adenau - it's far more 'guest-house' than hotel and is run by a Dutchman who spends some of his time as a 'Ring instructor. Plenty of off-street parking and a friendly welcome, and only a short drive up to the 'Ring.

Check out the Blau Ecke hotel in Adenau, we have stayed there for years and its a lovely place to be. In the centre of he village, within walking distance of other bars and eateries, although the food in the BE is excellent. The car park at the rear of the hotel is secure and the cars are visible from the hotel barbiggrin

All in all a great location and a fantastic 10 minute drive from the 'ring wink

Yep, Blau Ecke is good as well - used it Spring 2011. Parking a little hit or miss though if the hotel is busy.

Hi,
We stayed at Hilton Garden Inn in Stuttgart, wasn't too far from the museum, fairly easy to find, and a shortish taxi ride to city centre.. Underground carpark (chargeable) was fine. Clean and smart place.

Underground carpark at Porsche museum was the next step.

I have used the Hotel Wilhelmshoehe on three or four occasions and it has been uniformly excellent and very reasonably priced.

It's about 24KM from the circuit, which also gives your car's engine a good warming though before you arrive.

Yes, the parking is excellent and you can rent a garage also if you are really fussy rolleyes , the food and beer is very good also.

A load of the guys from 911uk are planning a trip to the museum, Spa and the 'Ring early next year. Tag along, no dates booked yet but potentially 25+ cars.

I've stayed at many hotels in and around Nurburg over the years, but my first choice is always Am Tiergarten. I've been to the 'Ring 10 times this year and have stayed there on each occasion, shame there's no loyalty bonus card! wink

The steak used to be great at the Pistenklause, would never eat there now the staff are so rude and they always tend to sit you out in the conservatory where it doesn't feel the same, also portion size has really gone down hill.

Not experienced this myself, staff are always pleasant and portion sizes always regular over the years.

Of the 20+ nurburgring hotels in which I've stayed, Am tiergarten is one of the better hotels but by no means the best. its also overpriced for what is only a borderline 3 star hotel. They do a reasonable buffet lunch for only €10 but a glass of coca cola is €4! Monaco prices! There are better rooms and better service levels elsewhere at both higher and lower price points but the Tiergarten has the virtue of being convenient for the PK restaurant which is an essential place to visit for any newbie.

My favourite local hotel is agnesen hof in Barweiler. It's quiet, nice rooms, best breakfast and staff for miles, and reasonably priced. It's not somewhere favoured by groups of lads with "scoobies".

I'm thinking of staying at Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler when I next return (Easter?). Its a spa resort which is popular with F1 drivers.
