Controlling Kenwood stereo with Focus steering wheel stork.

I've just swapped out the Kenwood stereo in my mark 1 Focus for a newer version. All I've plugged into the new stereo is the black block plug and the aerial for the radio. My steering wheel stalk controlled the old stereo but isn't working with the new one. Model number of the Kenwood is KDC-415UR. Any ideas?
