Anyone come across a supplier for a reasonably priced spark plug lead crimp tool? I've done a bit of googling but they all seem to be about £70...

I've got one you can borrow Phil, but you'll have to wait until I'm back in he UK.

Sometime in 2013, assuming we see old Blighty start to warm up a bit.

Alternatively these work Phil if on a budget http://www.ebay.com/itm/Taylor-43390-Spark-Plug-Wi... or http://www.ebay.com/itm/MSD-3503-Mini-Spark-Plug-W... if i remember correctly the Accel one is steel and longer lasting.

  • chuckle* Yes - a couple of appropriate tools and that's exactly what I'm looking for however the $60 shipping charge to the UK is a little offputting. wink

Any good ?

Or try emailing seller in States, postage rates are calculated by Ebay, he may be able to do something better?

Nope - an insulated crimp tool will not crimp plug leads.

Now that's odd - the pic is of a hex crimp tool and I have one of those already somewhere ... never thought of trying that!

No worries mate - good find! biggrin

I'll have another browse on eBay after I try to win a couple of £450 graphic cards that are currently sat at £2.20 and £1.50 each with ten minutes to go!

Well as luck would have it I saw this auction...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181046447250

...grabbed it and it turned up with a very nice looking ratchet crimp tool that would have cost me far more than £35 even if I could find one in the UK and I have a full set of "make it yourself" plug leads into the bargain. biggrin

Have ordered a 135 degree boot set of "Accel" plug leads from this guy...

http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/waspspeedshop

at £45 to see if we can get rid of the bloody extenders (I find they keep coming loose), a set of Ford "Gen 1" coilpack connectors from here:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190761715122

And a new set of "Ultra High Temp" resistant plug boot protector sleeves from here ...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370478570116

..so, hopefully, when they all arrive that'll be the end of the extenders. biggrin
