It was red with gold centred BBSs wasn't it? Featured at the beginning of the "Late Late Breakfast Show" in the opening credits, the only bit I used to watch!

He probably had a few though.

I seem to remember an acquaintance many years ago owned Mike Read's old Esprit... I think it was an S3 with gold wheels...
Is that car still around?

Cannot remember Noels car but wasn't Mike Reads car 'loaned' to him purely for a test? I've got the article in the Brooklands road test book somewhere?
Talking of 'famous' owners I can remember seeing Kim Wilde driving a Red Turbo at the start of the 'This is your Life' show for her dad Marty and also recall seeing a White G Turbo on the set of one of Chris Evans 'Don't forget your toothbrush' shows!

One of the Bros Twins had a White SE... file that in draw for Esprit's owners, Famous and thankfully forgot...

I remember it because I was working at the same recording studio in London where they did their 2nd (and last album)... Trouble was, that to a young Bros fan, a silver NA looks very similar... I had trouble getting the insurance guy to believe that the damage to the paint work was caused by being ambushed by 100 schools girls.

Mike Reids car was an S3 Turbo in Calypso Red with Gold Wheels, can't recall the interior, might have been black. My father was a Lotus Dealer in the 80's, i also seem to recall it having another engine as someone blew a hole in the first one.

Black interior definitely rings a bell... My acquaintance had it, I'd guess around the mid 90's... No idea what happened to it after that though.

I think there is a picture of it (and him) in Jeremy Walton's Esprit book, must have a look....

After consulting with the Guru, Mike Reid tried to sell it to my father with the "bad" engine, saying it was warranty, but neglected to tell us that his son had been trying out-run the police, thus blowing a HUGE hole in the engine. It ended up being chopped in at Lancasters Mercedes Colchester, if that helps.

Little known fact that DodgeyRog is the silent partner in the Walford Lotus main dealer
