Short shift on Getrag shifter

Any one modified the original getrag gear shift unit with a short shift kit ? also is fitting it in the original plastic unit difficult ?

I've fitted a short shift kit without issues....Not on an Ultima I should add.

I struggled but since they were no longer required a bit of brute force and ignorance sorted it!

what is the feel from the standard shifter , a more stiff feeling on the shift knob and a shorter move I pressume....?

I have a short shift on my Scooby Sti and love that hard to shift no loose feeling on the gear shift.

So which one is best ... many on e bay ... and also at Designtek..

My plastic "bushes" were broken sp I can't really say but the metal replacements have less movement. My kit also came with a piece to go on the bottom of the stick to shorten the movement further but I never fitted it.

I don't remember having any issues fitting the kit. I don't know the make of the kit as the customer supplied it.
