recommend me somewhere for august -we like Santorini!

We want to go away for a week at the end of August (leaving around 21st Aug, stuck with the dates....) and fancy a quiet package holiday...

Over the past 20 years we have been to Imerovigly on Santorini 5 times, just to give you an Idea of the type of place we like, but we don't want to go back this year as we were there only a couple of years ago...

We like:

Great scenery and views
good food
small and friendly
relaxed


we don't like

Mosquitoes!
Children! (wife is a head teacher - she sees enough of them!)
hotels like blocks of flats

Max is 4 hour flight

prefer somewhere where there are no long transfers from the airport...

any suggestions?

I should have added we don't like Turkey... After the first visit, I said never again... Then we went to Samos, and as it was so close to Ephersus it was silly not to see one of the wonders of the ancient world... I can tell you we wont be going to Turkey again... not keen on the culture of the people there... constant harassment, felt like everyone wanted to rip me off... never again!

I had exactly the opposite experience in Turkey. Loved the place.

Great suggestion.... not for the week in August... but we are going to Monaco for a few nights in July and this is only 3 hours drive away... We will probably spend a few nights there! thanks

Based on the above, I would suggest you avoid Marrakech like Ebola.

I'd recommend Rhodes if you like the Greek island thing.
