best daily car for low revs power and traction?
Discussion
Afternoon peeps,
Quick question, what do think is the best car for low rev power and being able to put that power down. how does your car perfom on a damp junction?
Just been thinking, that I mostly daily driving around town, not doing more that 30-60mph, my civic type s is mostly adequate. But what I do find frustrating is pulling out of junctions/merging, sometimes in second gear with dead low revs, and waiting that second or two until the car picks up (with the civic normally not until 2500rpm does it get going, and i know this is the drawback of the nature of the vtec (yo) engine).
Obviously I account for this aspect in my driving, but I wonder what would be the best car for 0-40 out of a moist junction. Traction is obviously needed, but also low rev pick up as its not always possible to be waiting with the engine revving, and that can just ends up with wheel spin anyway.
Im thinking something light with 4 wheel drive, good tyres, biggish displacement, and a supercharger? Or is this where diesels come in to their own? With lots or torque low down, ive never driven a diesel on a regular basis.
Any ideas about what realistic cars would be good in this situation? I realise that normal daily driving isn’t a race, its just a thought, as my car is adequate in most other daily situations.

How old and what brand are your tyres, I have found that tyres as they get near the wear limit get lower grip and some tyres are hopeless anyway, a pair of new, quality tyres with a good rating for rain and it is like going from 2wd to 4wd, my old Fiat Coupe had Nankangs on it and it was hopeless, put Continentals on ad the difference was staggering.
