Had the interview for CID today...

I managed to scrape up the right answers and was one of the candidates who passed, so I'll be wearing something slightly more stylish than "Saturn Yellow" at work in the not too distant future.

Don't worry, I'll keep my hand in by continuing to post here.

Da ner ner, da ner ner, da da da da, der der der, etc etc (very poor drunken celebratory phonetic rendition of the "Sweeney" theme.

Cheers BliarOut...

Strange thing is, when I joined BiB, the only two jobs I really wanted to do were Traffic and dogs.

Unfortunately, most traffic departments have become so emasculated with the advent of "Highways Agency" bods, ANPR, Gatsos and the like, that there's a general lack of a "want" for traffic, from the Home Office, Chief Officers and the public, it's just not like the good old days. And I think it'll only get worse before it ever gets any better, so I'm looking after number 1.

And I'm too "well insulated" to be a dog handler...

Does that mean you have to continually be pissed out of your face, swear a lot and greet each person you meet with a smack in the mouth and call them a slag. You now have loads of material for great one liner, pick one

True - these "HA" bods are like our "managers" - hot air - and I do keep telling them to stop munching muesli and guzzling veggie burgers as they alone are responsible for gaps in ozone layer as result of this ...... but .....

Oh dear - you have gone and done it now - she'll now be telling Streetcop that he has a squeaky voice ....

She reads that mungo is bit on the "small side" - her father (visiting us) now thinks there is a garden gnome in a pointy hat on the beat somewhere .....

See what I live with ...

And your patch is so-oo-oh lucrative with its 360 scameras.

Can well see why they have alineated their trafpols here.

Note they have a new one in St. Thomas Road near the Tescos.....just inside the 40mph zone ...less than a mile from the one in the 30mph zone ... My pals in the local hospital there tell me they are most amused by this ...

But how will they cope? This means 100% reliance on scams as now you are El Cid - they will not even have one nice cop on patrol here ....

Still - mate - very well done.

You will now have to learn how to drive a "Grandad", drink neat scotch of dubious blend (which you keep well hidden in your top drawer, and say "Shat it yer nicked". and "yes Gav" a lot .....

Have fun!

No, it means he's an individual with a complex personal life, an obstructive paperwork obsessed boss and a smart sidekick of the opposite sex. He's awkward but he gets results.

Apparently all Detectives are like this.....
