Not expecting anyone here to do anything, but fcensored - not again. You know the feeling when you just know it isn't going to work; well, I got that right now.

Yep...I ordered a fairly expensive Christmas present from Amazon, click on "track your item" and to my horror I see the word " Yodel" as my courier. yikes Not again...rolleyes. Seriously, an untrained snail would be able to deliver it faster and more efficiently than Yodel - at least the snail would attempt to deliver it.

Can't cancel; too late for that. It's probably floating past the bcensoredy Moon or something by now.

Apparently it'll "be delivered in time for Christmas"....sigh. Now waiting for the obligatory "We attempted to deliver" (by the invisible fcensoredg man) card to appear through my door again. Or maybe this time they'll choose the classic "Delivered and signed for" status - except it'll be sitting in a hedge somewhere in Scarborough, when it should be at my home in London. Who knows...

Why not wait till the delivery has or has not gone tits up before the rant

They delivered my Kindle Fire from Amazon on a Saturday when i was out getting a car.

When I say delivered, they more sort of hurled it over my gates on to the drive. Where it sat, in the rain for a day. Was supposed to be signed for as well.

You have my sympathy!

You're not filling me with confidence here people.... thanks to the fact I work abroad, pretty much my entire Christmas is ordered through Amazon.
I've just received the mail telling me it's all been despatched via Yodel..... ought I to start buying replacement presents now lol?

From experience...keep a good eye on it. They have a tendency to lie (i.e. "we attempted to deliver" and "delivered and signed for by Mr.Unknown"). They basically get local "self employed" people to deliver it so it looks like a huge nationwide company with an impressive delivery fleet when it isn't; every package that gets delivered is income - so they fake the delivery to meet targets and get paid (i.e screw the end customer)

Feel bad for you man frown

Although my Yodel experiences haven't been TOO bad recently. Got one parcel turn up at 6pm, and the other got delivered AND I got the 'you weren't in' note through the door - not sure what happened there. Both were delivered to my workplace though where somebody is always in.

Think I remember a thread on here a few weeks back involving someone getting a delivery note saying that the package had been left "in the back garden with their dog". They came back to find it had been torn apart, I don't think I have heard a single decent review about them to be honest

The self employed are to balance their service with demand. No retailer is going to base perm capacity around peak.

A missing/broken parcel costs them more than the delivery fee. However bad their service is, it is a direct result of the retailers demanding a very cheap service.

For what it's worth my Yodel deliveries have been OK this Xmas but I am still waiting for Parcelforce to locate a hamper that they lost a couple of weeks ago.

Had my own brush with Yodel last week. Ordered a book online which arrived last Tuesday. No one in so courier puts card through the door stating 'left in a safe place - blue bin'.

I was working away for a couple of days and the bin was emptied later in the day rage

Not the binmens fault - how would they know? Unless it specifically says on the delivery instructions to put in a bin, then this surely is the last place you would put it....

Fortunately the retailer is on the ball - I've contacted them & a replacement is on the way - don't think it'll be here in time for Xmas though frown

I wrongly thought this would be a support thread for people, who like me, also suffer from spontaneous yodelling.

I shall seek help in the quiet alleys of the local library instead.

Ahh Yodel. "Your order has been delivered"

Damned if I could find the 4 wheels and tyres. I mean a shoe box could be hidden somewhere but not something the size of this.

Just before I tried to sort it out next door let me know they took them in as the delivery driver was going to leave them on the door step. Because nobody would ever steal brand new alloys left in full view would they rolleyes

Parcelforce may be a few pennies more. But at least their depot is only 5 mins away and they don't just leave stuff in the open (yet).

Yodel employ mostly agency staff year-round.

I had heard that they were scaling back a little to not let as many people down.
