I live in the north east where the main A1 is single carriageway. When I travel south on motorways(a total luxury), why do southerners travel in the middle lane, which turns the three lane road into two. A national education programme regarding lane discipline is needed. Please can we have one of your lanes?

It's not southerners, it's northerners who are on holiday and have never seen anything more than a dirt track before hehe

All my in laws are from Haltwhistle so I have justification in this statement wink

Damn those elitist capitalist pigs from the south and their multiple lanes, if everyone travelled at one speed the country would be better off.

Same thing in Scotland. The busiest road in the whole of Scotland between the two major cities and it's two lane for about 99% of it and some of it STILL isn't proper motorway. The M74 is the only continous three lane motorway in the whole of Scotland and, TBH it's never actually that busy.

Motorists driving in the middle lane of a 3-lane motorway? Well I never!
Can't say I've ever witnessed such a thing in all my travels.

I can sort of picture it but if you're able to get an actual photograph of this taking place, it'll help get my head around it.

You know, the more I think about, the more I think this is a wind-up.
Next you'll be telling us one of them had their fog lights on when it wasn't foggy.
