Awesome project and end result, my only criticism is that the number plate area looked too cluttered and tacky with all the logos and badges etc but I see you must've thought the same as they magically disappeared!

I love the E36 too, I have thought about doing a similar project but it'd have to be in estoril blue with orange indicators and contour wheels (I know not strictly OEM but that's my ideal).

I wish I could justify respraying mine. The laquer is peeling on the wing mirrors and the spoiler and it's got few randow paint chips over the body. I can't really jutisfy the expense of the bodywork resto though - which is a shame as it's the only thing letting it down. Still, the mechanicals are all sorted, which is the main thing. Might treat her to some new window seals in Jan hehe

Stunning. What sort of cost is a job like that? I have a techno violet 318is which I want to have restored to perfect condition.

My old M3 cost a whisker over £5k, including parts, paint and a pair of tyres.

It's great to see somebody else doing this too !
I've just had all that body work done on mine - I thought it was due after 8 years of ownership. Sadly though, the garage that did the work forgot to take all the pictures for me that I asked for. Next year it'll be (with a bit of luck) new leather and refurbished wheels.

That looks really nice its got me thinking again.

I spent a while looking for 1 in 2005 generally P & R reg's but ended up with a 535I wierdly i thought it was a lot more car for my money (prob cos it had a telly) and i regret it to this day as the e36 m3's sort of passed me by.

I have an E46 now in estoril blue and the other day some guy in an almost empty B & Q carpark parked next to me in a mint E36 M3 in estoril blue and i thought if i had the money to run 2 m3's i would love to have one as well. Hopefully he thought the same about mine ha ha...
