Going to section the roof on my S2 fhc. It's just an S2 so I am not worried about saving some precious object.

Using an S1 photo because I will modify to make it an S1 anyway.

I am also going to remove some metal from the roof length-wise to pull the tumble home in. I know how to make Lexan windscreens. I will also need to re-shape the boot lid...

Could you lengthen the doors too? The centre section of the E-type tub is the least resolved part of the shape IMO

Admire the confidence to consider doing it - but why? IMHO this has the most perfect shape of any car ever - so why change it? - people do the same thing with the second most perfectly shaped car from that period the C3 Vette, again a perfect design - why change it?. I understand when a car is accident damaged, panels missing or perhaps a basket case!

It's going to take a while if all he's got is a die-grinder.

But great project though, a nice Viper V-10 would complete things and for wheels I's suggest these wide alloys fitted with too-narrow tyres that the VW fellas like.

If you are going to do it - be radical - 'lay' the screen back further, perhaps you can source a 'deeper' one off another car - chop the roof a little more, drop the stance of the car down lower?

Bubble the roof slightly so it has two sculpted ridges from front to rear, a bit like the 3rd pic down in this link but more obvious.

I'm not too sure. I think i prefer the original.
The modified one has got a bit of a kit car look to it.

I'd be interested to see what could be done with a 2+2 though

I agree , if any of the models need re-thinking, the 2+2 is the one to do.
