Poor radio reception

I have a Sony and have noticed that the radio reception is terrible. In my S I can pick up almost any radio station perfectly (Radio 1,2,3,4 etc) and both cars have the same head units.
In the Chim though, I cannot pick up Radio 1 or 2, in fact none of them except Heart
(Which I don't like!).
Someone mentioned I should change the aerial, anyone else had similar problems?

I had pretty much the same problem (have a Sony head unit too). Tried the simple option of buying a cheap normal telescopic aerial & a longer aerial cable so that it could reach the boot. Just simply secured it in underside of the curved lip at the back of the boot above the fuel tank. Works much better- I can even usually get some stronger AM stations. Not a very technical fix but cheap, easy & works for me!
