The only real benefit for me over the mail order outlets is being able to physically examine the goods before parting with cash. Plus, I've met a couple of their staff who've got a vague idea about what they're selling.

Well Comet have gone.

So the old advice of 'see it in a shop then buy it cheaper online' will eventually no longer work. We'll be forced to buy stuff by guesswork after looking at an ickle photo of it.

Pity really.
