Right, mum needs a new car and the main criteria are that it is has to be a convertible, up to 23kish, 2 or 4 seats and up to a year old. Currently she has a Mini Cooper convertible.
My suggestions to her have been a mini roadster or a Porsche boxter.
Any suggestions would be good!
Thanks Tom

Seriously? Mini Cooper convertible or Boxster? That's two very different cars indeed :-D

There must be about 50 models that fit that criteria.

E90 3 series is a very complete convertible, she'd struggle to fault it and would no doubt fall in love with one with a nice paint/interior combo. Audis make superb convertibles, free of scuttle shake but are increasingly sleep inducing to drive...

What's the whole 2 years old thing about? Number plate snobbery? A Porsche Boxster would otherwise be the ultimate choice...

A brand new BMW Z4? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2012...

That would be my choice.

What does she hate about her mini? If nothing then another mini will do just fine. If she genuinely doesn't have a clue about cars why burden her with a choice?

Or an Elise. Nice little 1.6 should do.

Saw one on the road the other day and it looked stunning

Crikey, didn't realise they were so cheap! I'm tempted myself...

1 Series cabrio is a nice little car.
Boring as hell to drive (even the 135i) but that could easily be considered to mean 'nice and comfortable for mum to drive'.

Audi don't do an A4 cab right now.
So you'd be lookibg at the huge A5 or the ugly A3.

Alternatively.
Jeep Wrangler.

Needs or wants? Quite some difference.
