insurance for Griff

I'm due to buy a Griff in the next week or two and I'm about to start phoning insurance companies for quotes. Rather than spend two days investigating which company is likely to do the best deal, I'm guessing that other people may have already carried out such an excercise!! As such, are there any particular insurance companies which people would recommend.
Regarding my specifics, it will be a weekend car only running about 3-4k per year. It will be garaged in a decent part of town - and I've got 6 points on my license (damn speed camaras!).
Be helpful to hear other people's experience / advice. Not just with regard to 'price' but also with regard to 'claims' (if possible).

I've not had to make any claims (touch wood) but I am pleased with the £480 I pay for similar mileage through Classicline with 6 points on me license due to scameras too.
I found a website through Google (I think this was the one www.tvr-webmart.co.uk/tvr_guide_insurance.html) that detailed different people premiums.

I suppose that might influence the low cost!!!!
Did the same, and I got away with out any kids. Mind you, I did 5,000 miles - it wasn't much more than 3,000 as I recall.

I insured for 3,000 miles and they confirmed that if it I think I will exceed this later in the year, I can phone and extend it to 5,000 paying the difference between the two re the original quotes, which as you say was minimal.
I therefore thought, I have nothing to loose!

No track day cover though so I have to pay £115 extra each time.
next year I'll probably get a dearer annual policy that includes track cover.
I'll add to mine that mannings wouldnt touch me either but they were very kind and offered lots of useful advice. I can understand them not insuring virgins to this level of power. If they did then maybe their quotes wouldnt be as competitive.
Their track day cover is only for TVRCC trackdays, no good for me anyway.

Im 31 (but feel 18 and act like a 5 year old), Aquarius, brown eyes, likes good food, good wine and laughing. Had right foot amputated and replaced with a lead substitue.

Overwieght = Medallion
Follically Challenged = Because I pull it out to add it to my chest wig.
Being that this is the Griff forum I didnt think it necessary to mention though!
