Are we really in the 21st century? This is not even a fringe group, it seems. Their biggest fan group.

Don't think I'd go to any part of Eastern Europe if I was black. Have Zenit condemed the letter yet?
Yes, their manager has come out and said that players are chosen on ability and ethnic background is not a problem.Still, you have got to feel for Hulk, he could have signed for a host of Clubs, but went to Russia where his own 'fans' hate him. If I were him I would ask for a transfer come January.

There was a lot of 'top' clubs ready to sign Hulk, while no player deserves to be racially abused, the fact he was greedy has led him to where he is now. No sympathy what so ever. Why any top player would want to play in the russian league is beyond me.MrMagoo said:

Totally agree with this.BrabusMog said:
Absolutely, good luck to the lad. What the above poster thought and I mirrored, is that for someone to feel sorry for Hulk is a bit rich as he has put himself into the situation.
Plus the fact he's regularly throwing tantrums, hardly going to endeer himself to the fans.BrabusMog said:

Totally agree with this.Someone offered him a great deal of money to play with some other stars, he gets abused, and according to you chaps he "got whats coming to him"?
Bizarre.

How many other 'stars' play for Zenit?Someone offered him a great deal of money to play with some other stars, he gets abused, and according to you chaps he "got whats coming to him"?

The answers none.
The fact is he chose to pocket more cash rather play for a top club in the very best leagues and competitions. (nothing wrong with that what so ever) Although you have to question his ambitions, he's not exactly on the bread line, as a professional player you'd expect them to want to play for the very best clubs in the world if given the opportunity.
If your anything other then white and choose to sign for a Russian club, expect abuse. Simple.
Is that wrong? Absolutely, but Unfourtunatley that's Russian culture.
How the morons at Fifa thought it would be a good idea to give them the world cup is anyone's guess. Hopefully it'll kick start a change In the way they think towards other cultures and ethics.
Chelsea wanted him. No doubt he and, even more likely, his agents saw a big pay packet when Zenit showed interest and Porto knew they could hold out for massive money with the Russians.
The only losers in this are Zenit who've paid huge sums to buy and pay a player that was never going to be happy there or liked by the fans. I reckon Chelsea will be in for a cut price transfer in the summer. Similar for Witsel who is a very good player, likely to go to a big club in a less racist country.
