Squeeky Gaz Coilovers
Discussion
Hi, it's roof off time over here in Hong Kong and I've recently noticed my rear shocks are squeaking like my bed springs.
They are only 2 years old, Gaz Nickles, and have done around 4000 miles. It's annoying more than anything, but is there a quick fix to stop the squeaks? Any help appreciated !

Other than replacing the seals & returning them - its otherwise another design fault, later rectified.
Otherwise you could try settings on completely soft for a short time/or tweek ride height then restore original settings.
Secondly I did find using a very thin smear of synthetic grease over the exposed piston arm, teh sort used for mountain bike forks does help, but not generally recommended for multiple applications or a long term fix

I have Gaz Nickel on my Griff and they squeak like an old bed too.
I've talked to Derek at Ab Shocks about this in the past and he says it is curable with a service.
If they aren't old you should get it done under warranty. But mine are past that now.
I decided this winter I would get the shocks sorted, so two weeks ago I emailed Absolutely Shocks and a week ago I phoned and left a voicemail but neither have elicited any kind of response yet.
If they do ever get back to me I'll let you know what they can do.

I bet these suspension parts are made in either Taiwan or China. Would be surprised if they manufactured in uk?
I've only had mine 2 years, the Bilstiens were on for 13 yrs and didn't Squeeky !
Pity the supplier doesn't respond . Little I can do regards warranty stuck out here in hong kong.
I'll wear my ear plugs when the roof down

Can`t say to much ,they closed the thread on TVR general gassing . Mine went back with a failed near side rear and two adjusters failed , the front end nodding up and down , anything other than perfectly smooth ground .
These are the expensive GAZ monos with the 500lb 400lb setup ..The only thing positive is they seemed good around corners on a smooth surface .I would imagine they would be brilliant around a race track .
Could not take the "nodding dog syndrome" anymore. I blame the spring lb selection causing under damping

All parts are hand machined in the UK, Essex to be precise. I know because I got "invited" to the factory for a visit when I complained about my rubbishy knocking GAZ Gold Pros on my VX220. Turns out I had nickles (miscommunication with person I bought the VX from) and they were four years old! In the end I got a brand new set of GGP fitted for free which were chuffing excellent....Point is most performance dampers need a rebuild every two years, sometimes every year. GAZ will do this free if in warranty, but unlike me you can't just drive there!
