Does anyone have the New prices of the 1992 911 turbo and Turbo s ?

Been trying to see how they compare to today's 911 prices and see what inflation has done for us.

Can't help with cost back then but the multiplier to convert a 1992 price into a 2012 equivalent is 1.8

964 RS came out at approx £62K back in '92 IIRC, and the turbo was slightly cheaper.

91 MY was £58,590 plus car tax of £4882.50 plus VAT of £11,107.69 = £74,580.19.

I don't have price list for 92 MY

ETA - that's the Turbo, the Turbo S and RS don't appear on the normal price lists.

Sounds about nearer the mark. I believe the 1993 964 3.6 turbo was around £85,000

Well my 1996 993 Turbo was just over £100k new with options. About the same as they are now. Not bad, given they'd be well over £150k if they'd gone up with inflation.
Compare that with the average price of a house then and now too - that's scary.

Thats surprising,
Considering how much the average family car has increased in price I was "guessing" they would have been circa 45/50K back in 92.

Only surprising if you think plastic and lower quality steel costs more than the old school build quality. There was an influx of bean counters mid 90's at Stuttgart;)

On a related note, small cars haven't increased much either. My first brand new company car was a Fiesta 1.6L diesel (wasn't I the high flier? I was only 18 though) with a MW/LW radio with 1 speaker. It cost just over £7000 - in 1988!! These days they come with power steering, aircon, bluetooth, airbags, ABS and lots of other stuff - I don't know how much they cost now (a Ka would probably be a better comparison anyway) but I bet it's not too much more.

Indeed. I bought a new MX-5 for around £18k in 1998. 15 years on that's about what they are now.

964 Turbo S (3.3) was £131k in the UK IIRC. Strangely the 993 GT2 was less, at around 128k, again IIRC.
