Had a share in an S1 for five years, sold when the pie consumption meant that getting in and out of the thing was more stressful than landing it! Thankfully the Yak is still amenable to the pie-enthusiast aviator.
Plenty of Pitts of all flavours at White Waltham, just west of Maidenhead, plus lots more avant-garde aerobatic kit.
Well, I thought it was a long shot asking on here about something so specific... but I'm now glad I did!
I don't even have my PPL yet, I have about 20 hours under my belt, the most recent being 5 years ago, so I'm not exactly what you'd call familiar with life among the clouds, but the itch is still there.
The Pitts is the reason I fell in love with aircraft, I've built a couple of model r/c ones before I was old enough to get into cars, and anyway this year coming, I will have enough money to find out whether or not my love of the skies is still there...I very much doubt I've lost it!
I wanted to have a good poke around an aircraft (and ask lots of very blonde questions no doubt), but if the offer is there WTFWT, I would kill for a blast in one.I live about 4 hours from London, so could make it anytime :-)
