Hi All,

Tonight i as driving up the M40 and i went for an overtake and had no power and if i hold the "gas" the car would start to shudder.

This issue only seems to happen if i go over 3k RPM. I called the AA to take a look and he drove the car and said there is nothing wrong its just hitting the limiter ! Bu****it..... or its a injector /EGR fault.

He said he would take me to the nearest garage however i said no thankyou!!

I have had a quick Google and found it could be one of the following:
Turbo
Injectors
MAM / EGR
ECU fault

Any ideas... anyone has the same issue ?

Thanks

I have also checked to see if there were any fault codes being kicked out by the ECU using my £9 ODB2 reader i got from Amazon UK, however there were no faults.

I was at the point of giving up but i thought i would disconnect the battery and leave it of whilst i had my breakfast.

I reconnected the battery and drove from Leicester to home and there was no issues at all !!

Weird.

I had a very similar problem a month ago (1.8 tdci 52k). Shuddering and no power over 3k revs, but was intermittent and only happened once the engine had warmed up. The garage replaced the fuel filter. Now it's back to normal so hopefully that's it fixed.

Sticking exhaust gas recirculation valve is certainly possible. Injectors etc would be more likely to stay "broken".
