Sold already!! Not surprised if it checks out
Hope the new owner is on here because the story might be interesting - HPI clear, A1 Engine, Solid outriggers - only thing I can think of is finance company repossession.
Even the history looks good, one of the recepits shown I recognise as Bespoke's

Used to know the owner of this - in fact it made me look into getting a Cerbera as it looked and sounded great burbling around near where I work.
When I last saw him the owner (must be three years ago) he said he was looking to sell because he wasn't using it enough. It looked quite clean when he had it and I know he spent quite a bit keeping it in good nick.
Dunno where it's been for the last few years mind.

I looked at this car earlier this year, lad wanted 10k for it, interior was good and engine seemed ok, but the paint work was terrible, ive never seen such bad paint, it was as if it had a light dusting of the base colour over and laquered, was so uneven and patchy, but it had gradually turned like that somehow, it needed the entire car painted as checks and engine bay were all transparent as well, was rosso red, dont no if deans had it painted? as the pictures show it alot better then it was. also outriggers look fairly rusty, not sure how much dean has got it for, but he only lives a mile away from the lad who owned it.
Haha! Got to love the P'heads worriers!
No offence lads but I've known that car well for almost 5 years and it's a bloody good straight car. Not perfect which I'll get onto in a moment but totally straight and sound.
My best mate Craig bought it from Drivestyle in harrogate for about £13k. I took him down to view it and then to collect it. It had had 2 owners the 2nd one having had it for about ten years. The car had covered about 40k miles (excuse any slight errors I'm going by memory) so we figured, a TVR that had covered decent mileage by the same owner that had not been passed around, must stand for something.
In the 4 years Craig owned it, it covered not many miles at all, as it (along with my summer cars) was used only for the thrill of driving, eg organised road runs and nice Sunday morning blasts. We've always had daily cars and several bikes between us too, hence we have a hard time splitting our time enough between toys.
As mentioned by acf or whatever, above, the paintwork isn't perfect. The worst ever seen? Come off it!
It's original which again counts for a lot in my eyes, but yes it is bloody thin! You can actually see 1ft wide stripes up the boot-lid where the paint has been applied. Must have been a silver base coat with red applied or something?
It also has some stone-chipping to the front.
Chassis wise, Craig had the car into Hexham Horseless carriages a couple of years ago for a chassis inspection, after viewing some of the chassis horror stories on the net. They gave it the all clear saying it has some minor surface rust, but is sound. Since then the car hasn't even done 1000 miles.
In the 4 years owned, the car let Craig down once. A snapped throttle cable. Apart from that he had a charging problem so sent it to a specialist and had the major electrical items renewed. That was starter, battery and alternator, again if memory serves me right. Not all required but a case of "while you're in there".
As for TVR Dean being about 1 mile away from us so we must know him, we wouldn't know him if he passed us in the street!
The story behind the sale is this -
Craig has a company van but no daily car lately. The TVR sits doing nothing and I mean NOTHING, as due to house refurbs (mine and Craigs) and me getting married etc, neither of us have had any sort of car fun for the best part of 2 summers really.
Craig therefore decided he wanted a nice more useable car as taking girls to restaurants in a van isn't great.
I took the car down for an MOT, due to Craigs work commitments, a few weeks ago. It passed no problem and I don't even think it had a single advisory!
However on the way back the engine management light flashed on once or twice and the car ran a little lumpy. Still drove great and pulled like a train, just not as perfect as normal.
Now this could have been something or nothing but Craig having already lost interest in the car ages ago just wanted rid without spending any money.
Now I'm sure Craig won't mind me saying this but once he wants rid of something, he wants rid of something and fast! I've had one or two automotive bargains off him myself over the years due to this.
Heck! I've bought a car from Craig before, run it for nearly 2 years, kept the good wheels off it and still sold it for the same money. That's how bad Craig is when he wants something gone!
We buy any car offered £6k for the Cerb so a car dealer mate of ours who often has some nice stuff through his doors said he'd try to get Craig something a bit more realistic for it. Which he did. By complete coincidence the very same day our mate took the Cerb upto his premises TVR Dean rang him to have a car transported by him, you can guess the rest. Gone within a day.
Anyway, we were all out at the pub last night (not TVR Dean obviously as we don't know him) and our mate said Dean had been on to say he'd sorted the running and had already taken a deposit for the car. The photos in the advert are from Delaval Hall in Northumberland and yes the car probably does look better than in themetal plastic.
, but not that much better. After a good wash and wax the car still looks very presentable and the boot-lid is by far the worst panel on the car. The colour is Rosso Pearl.
All that said, the car is a good'un and even if the new owner really does want to fine-tooth comb it, I'd be very surprised if it will throw up any horror stories for them.
It's a 3 owner, full history, 4.5 cerb, that's had anything it's needed over the years and is totally original, oh and HPI clear obviously.
So unfortunately there will be no nasty stories surfacing about this example. It's a rare example of a straight-up car being off-loaded by a straight-up owner who has simply fallen out of love with it and wants it gone.
Believe me, don't believe me. It doesn't matter really.
PS. If I'd had £6k lying around that wasn't destined for something else I'd have snapped up that car and moth-balled it. Unfortunately I don't have the space and Cerbs don't like or deserve to be left sitting unused.
Here's a pic when we colleted it from harrogate.

Here's one of a brekkie run us and our other mates from home had, to Hartside. I owned the 964T then and now own the 996 GT3 further along. Our mate who sold the Cerb for Craig was in his grey 550.

ETA - AC autocolour, you're remembering the car incorrectly too. The door checks are amazingly deep and glossy in colour. Me and Craig always joked that it's a pity the rest of the bodywork didn't look like the door-jams.
You're correct about the thin paint on top though.
One last thing lads. Any of you in the market for a one have just missed a bargain, no stories car. Yes if i seen the advert I'd be being careful when viewing, but this instantly writing it off as must have a story, freshly waxoiled chassis, is just plain daft and unfortunately sums up P'heads these days.
View a car before you give it the old "run forrest run" patter! It's pointless scare-mongering from supposed experienced owners and experts.
Anyhow, as you were....

Spooky Gazza,
I just edited to add that comment to you.
No colour mismatches panel to panel just general areas redder than others.
Servicing wise, I'd be lying if I said I knew. It may have not had a one for the last year or even two. Me and Craig have been refurbing our own houses as well a couple bought to rent etc, so our cars did literally just stand for the last two years. That's my 964T included, although that was always pampered and serviced every spring, regardless of use. GT3 currently doing the same but I've just bought it.
