Seen a couple of these advertised, are they likely to be ex-race cars and best avoided ?

Also wondered how much of original interior is left in when they are stripped out...

Have a look at www.f355challenge.co.uk it has a couple of pictures of my brothers old 355 Challenge car, including a shot of the interior (albeit taken many years ago with an old 1Mb digi camera). I know the basics behind these cars, as he raced his on/off for a couple of years. His was an ex euro Pirelli car (I think a 98 version) – spent about 2 years abroad where it was raced, then ended up as a club Fiorano car, where it was used for a year. Then sold on.

When we brought it we discounted the body panel condition, panel fit, colour ,etc… Because in reality if it’s been raced, competitively, it will have seen it’s share of knocks. He had several bumpers, the odd bonnet, the odd spray on a panel here and there to keep it looking nice.

Over a couple of seasons, many track days and several races – his never missed a beat – this was in about 3 years of ownership.
