Great video about a little known car! Okay it's a development hack but I think its looks the business as it is.

I think the wheel's divide opinion

Yep, something needs to be done about those wheels.

That looks the absolute nuts.

Change the wheels for something a bit less modern and a bit more in keeping with the look, then I'd whip out my hypothetical chequebook now.

I'm with everyone else on the wheels! I was expecting a few more 'hot rod' touches if I'm honest. Mind you, it's clearly unfinished, still time to give it a coat of satin black, red steelies and blue dots...

I love it.

It reminds me very much of V10Mike's Keeble and where I'm going with my Keeble, understated, few more GG's and I'm adding modern EFI.

Swap the wheels for 70s Wolfrace slot mags, brush paint it purple and you'd have my dream 401.

Interesting project, not sure it is to my taste but if someone wants the look of a 1950s Bristol but with the power of a later, V8 car then this is surely what they're looking for. It did make me smile when the chap in the video said about creating a more useable car; in the Bristol Owners Club there is an annual trophy for the six-cylinder Bristol which records the greatest mileage between the annual Concours event. Last year (and possibly this year too) the winner was someone with a standard 401 who uses it as his main and possibly only car.

Dave Dale's burgundy 403 - won at Hardwick Hall this year. Really nice car and it sounds great.

Thanks Trommel, I couldn't remember if it was a 401 or 403. Must confess I find it hard to tell them apart at a distance.
