Has anyone else noticed the price of Turkey seems to have gone through the roof this year. Just been to M&S (no time to get to my butcher) and a crown is £35.00 seems a bit steep to me.

No bothering with turkey in our home - it's a pork joint and a nice piece of silverside for us. Much less expensive and nicer IMO.

(butcher mode on) It's to do with the price of feed, It's gone though the roof ATM due to the wet summers, things like pork,chicken,eggs have all gone up.(butcher mode off).

Think our 22lb turkey was around £60 last year direct from the farm. Going for a more modest 12lb'er and a Beef joint this year.

Sorry but I just don't get the turkey thing (too close to roast chicken which we eat regularly). Duck and glazed ham this year!

Makro - £3.69 per kilo for turkey crown. Most crowns are coming in about £20 - bargain.

Cooks well & when bacon wrapped and buttered is moist & flavoursome ;-)

Bronze free ranger from a Yorkshire farm this year for us to keep the turkey police happy.

It's okay though, I've got my rib of beef, capon and pork shoulder on stand by.

15lb Free range wotsit grown by my cousin, not sure if it was black or white but they are all turkey colour on the inside!

Agree with this. My annual campaign for a more interesting meat for dinner has failed. Again.

Did get goose one year (). Since then, back to turkey
