My Golf GTD has finally gone after 20 dull days of ownership, to be replaced by my new Solar Orange S3:

It has everything I wanted except for iPod compatibility, and that will be getting sorted within the month. Also having a towbar fitted and hopefully will have the wheels powder coated in the same colour silver as the wing mirrors as I'm not a huge fan of the anthracite.
It's so much better than the Golf to drive. The noise is great, I love the little pops around 4k rpm and it's surprisingly fast but doesn't feel anywhere near as fast as it is.
I'll update with some better pics when the weather is less dreary!

Love the bold colour. Just picked up an S3 Sportback on weds, get what you are saying about the speed. Doesn't actually feel that fast although if you put it in sport it does seem to move along quicker. Think I need some time to get used to the engine and how to get the best out of it.
I know not everyone will like the colour but I love it. It does look better in the sunlight instead of the dreary greyness of today!
I forgot to put another thing I'm planning on changing - the drug dealer tints are hopefully going to be removed if possible

Tasty!
The orange works for me and I agree having the wheels in silver will work well.

I realise the wheels are a different style...
Oooh I like those wheels a lot. I also prefer the grille with the bit of silver on it... although the RS3 grille would also fit and does look pretty good! The orange works for me and I agree having the wheels in silver will work well.

Yeah sport helps a lot, I use the paddles the majority of the time though
It reminds me a lot of my Polo GTI, but turned up to 11! One thing that does bug me is the bluetooth woman, she doesn't seem to understand me! I think I need to play with it a bit.
Looks good, though I don't think S3's are legally allowed to tow?

Nice
But why anyone buys a car like this to stick a tow bar on is beyond me, there's a scirocco R down the road with one and it just looks stupid ruins the look of the car etc
But each to there own
So if you need to be able to tow you should own something boring? With a detachable towbar you wouldn't know it had one any other time..But why anyone buys a car like this to stick a tow bar on is beyond me, there's a scirocco R down the road with one and it just looks stupid ruins the look of the car etc

Nice car fella - good to see one in a different colour.
my mates got one, very capable car but ultimately a bit dull for me. I was impressed with the high grip levels and flat cornering.
Im going on a hoon on boxing day with a few alfas and an s3 like yours. I think the s3 will p*ss all over the GTA/other Alfas in the wet/damp conditions, but Im sure I'll be having more fun, or if not, i'll at least have more aural pleasure from the big v6 purring in front of me :0

If your car is a black edition model then the tint is factory and not just stuck onto clear glass.
Ah, it is a black edition. I guess I'll be leaving it then

Except this is my daily car and not really anything special? I bought it as a tow car for my bike. But why anyone buys a car like this to stick a tow bar on is beyond me, there's a scirocco R down the road with one and it just looks stupid ruins the look of the car etc

Plus it's going to be detachable, you wouldn't actually know it has a towbar on.

But this is my daily car, not one for hooning/general pleasure. That role is filled in by the DB9 my mates got one, very capable car but ultimately a bit dull for me. I was impressed with the high grip levels and flat cornering.
