A what car thread, with a difference

As a petrolhead and regular PH lurker I am unlucky enough to live and work in Singapore. The only way of getting my 4 wheeled kicks is by renting (cars that is) when back visiting friends and family in the uk. coming back for just over a week in early jan and want something as interesting as possible to drive, without spending much over a grand - any suggestions gratefully received. I'm thinking more focus rs than Audi tt, something with a bit of personality (even if questionable)!
