What i want:

50" ish.
Full HD
Digital audio output that can supply 2 channel, volume preferably controlled by remote.
3 HDMI

That's it, i don't need 3D, a tuner, speakers etc.

Is there anything that can do so cheaply?

Don't think any of the volume controls work on the digital output (think it is fixed so the surround amp does the volume control)

They'll all have a freeview and analogue tuner

Do you already have an AVR in that case? Digital Audio will be carried by HDMI. My Panny has a Viera Link feature which means you can control other connected devices through the TV, as long as they are DLNA compatible.

So you can control the amp, volume etc, switch between TV and amp speakers, control a media player, dvd etc all through the tv remote. You can also set it so that when the tv is turned on/off it will also turn on/off the amp etc.

I expect most other modern tv's have similar features.

Sony have hit the ball out of the park with their latest TVs. They are all excellent.

The 55 is awesome. I've just got the 47' version.

It is gobsmackingly excellent. Fast motion capture so no jerkiness with action.

And a VERY natural picture. I find many LED TV's weirdly unnatural looking, particularly the Samsungs, while the Sony seems perfect to me. The picture is superb.

The Sony's are also not too shabby in non HD as well. This often gets forgotten - some HD TVs have a rubbish non HD picture.

All in all, very happy. Got a free Sony blueray player thrown in too,

You will need a soundbar or speaker set up. The Sony one I have has a wireless sub, which is cool.

Only issue I have is programming the Sky remote to control the whole kit. It has been driving me nuts, but that's Sky's problem not Sony's...

I use my main Hi-Fi for sound, would be handy if i could feed straight into a DAC rather than the poor analogue out.
My amp has none of this new-fangled remote stuff, so TV remote volume would be a bonus especially with the huge difference in levels between programs.
No interest in surround sound or 3D.

I just bought three Furrion 55" LED sets from ebuyer. They don't appear to do them anymore which is a shame. I bought the first and was really impressed with it, so chanced my arm by buying another two. Cost? £399 plus delivery (£11).

They come with a two year warranty, and when connected to my PC it sees the HDMI connection as Pioneer so maybe they have Pioneer panels in?? The picture is very sharp with no dead pixels but the onboard audio is not brilliant - who cares - as most would send this via a surround processor anyway. I sold the other two on ebay for £599 (yes I know..) and I've had positive feedback at that price!

There are sellers on ebay also doing them for £550 and £599 respectively and people are paying this. The sets are Chinese and have Digital Freeview and inbuild PVR's (you just need to add a USB hard drive for storage). At £399 for a 55" LED panel with a two year warranty, I was really impressed by the picture quality. They're not Panny's but they're not Panny money
